SIBA Receives the 2026 New Deals Dortmund HR Management Award

For 80 years, SIBA has stood for safety in electrical power supply. What began in 1946 with the repair and manufacture of fuses for the mining industry has developed into an internationally active specialist in electrical fuses. Despite its international presence, the fourth-generation family-owned company maintains strong ties to its home base in Lünen. The current expansion of production capacity with the construction of a new facility further underscores SIBA’s long-term commitment to the location.

Responsibility for Our Location and Our Employees

SIBA keeps much of its development, toolmaking, production, and logistics expertise in-house, helping preserve valuable know-how within the company. At the same time, SIBA creates skilled jobs in the region and offers career opportunities for experienced professionals, apprentices, and career changers. Fair working conditions and collective bargaining agreements for the German metal and electrical industry are an integral part of SIBA’s identity as an employer.

Training and developing talent from within the company are key priorities. SIBA continuously provides vocational training in technical, commercial, and IT professions. Leadership positions are predominantly filled internally, with around 80 percent of managers coming from within the company. SIBA’s long-term HR approach is also reflected in long employee tenure and a consistently low turnover rate over many years.

Partnership as Part of Our Corporate Culture

One of the key reasons for the award is the trust-based cooperation between management and the Works Council. Open communication, transparency, and regular dialogue on economic developments and planned changes characterize the way both sides work together. The shared objective is not to view business and social interests as opposing forces, but to develop sustainable solutions that benefit both the company and its employees.

The 2026 Dortmund HR Management Award therefore recognizes more than SIBA’s HR policies. It honors a corporate culture that combines long-term business thinking with responsibility for employees and the region.

A heartfelt thank you!
